Life Membership Award  -  Colin Thompson

​

Colin has been a dedicated member of Coastal Rockers for more than 20 years, contributing consistently both on and off the dance floor.

He has served multiple terms on the committee, including as Treasurer from 2001–2004, as a committee member in 2008–2009, 2018–2021, and again from 2025–2026.

 

Colin has been a steady and reliable presence during times when the club has faced significant challenges, always stepping forward when a calm and practical approach was needed—even while managing his own health challenges.

 

Despite still being in full-time employment, he continues to generously give his time and energy to support the ongoing success of the club.  He is a familiar face at Birthday and Christmas Hops, regular dance lessons, Beach Hop demonstrations, and workshops, and is consistently present week after week—helping to ensure strong ongoing participation, which is vital to a thriving dance community.

 

Quietly dependable and always willing to help behind the scenes, Colin is an invaluable part of Coastal Rockers.

He has also been a valued sponsor of our Birthday Hops over many years, further demonstrating his long-standing

commitment to the club.
