Adjunct News
Darts - Jude Fenton
Jude has just returned from Japan. A trip of a lifetime! She captained the New Zealand Ladies Team who competed in the WDF World Cup XXI 2017 in Kobe Japan. This tournament was held from 3/10/17-7/10/17. 31 Teams from around the world competed and New Zealand's Team consisted of 11 players including 6 men and a 12 year old girl from Auckland! There were 300 volunteers mostly young students who assisted with scoring - computerised and manually as a backup. Plus officials constantly going around the tournament and helping out. The Ladies Team came 10th overall and the Men's Team came 8th overall.

These were amazing results and Jude said the 12 year old in the Ladies Team played very well and did not let the team down. She has a bright future ahead of her.

At the end of that tournament, Jude competed in the Bud Brick Memorial Open Tournament. She came 3rd equal with a female player from France and won •20,000 (Yen) and a Bronze Medal (as seen in her picture). They only lost to a player in Japan so understandably she is extremely happy and proud of her results. There is little time for rest for Jude as in two weeks time she heads off with the New Zealand Team to play in Dubbo. Well done Jude! We are all so very proud of you and look forward to hearing how the competition goes in OZ!

Indoor Bowls

Results from October 6th: We had 26 today for the Bean and Muir Pairs Trophies. Bean Trophy was won by John Hares and Lindsay Tomlin and runners up were Joe Stockman and Ann Purcell. Muir Trophy was won by Jenny Harpur and Stu Braithwaite, runners up were Alan McCowatt and Alan Wilmer. The Raffle on Friday was won by John Towes. Congratulations to all the winners and we look forward to seeing you again next week Wednesday 2.30pm for a cuppa ready to play at 3pm and Friday 1.15 names in ready for play at 1.30.
